Reflection

Throughout the course Educational Technology, I had a wonderful time, this was my favorite course this semester. I learned so much thanks to my awesome lecturer Dr. Kareen Tatham-Brown, I also had the opportunity to explore various technology tools such as podcasts, Interactive PowerPoints, WebQuests, Online Quizzes, Digital Stories, and Google Classroom. Each of these tools offered unique ways to enhance teaching and learning experiences in the classroom. I plan to incorporate these tools on my third- and fourth-year practicum.   Podcasts proved to be an engaging tool for delivering educational content. By creating podcasts, teachers can provide students with audio resources that cater to different learning styles. This aligns with the ISTE NETS Standards for teachers by promoting digital communication and collaboration skills. I used the app podbean to create a podcast for a lesson, this helped to catch the students’ attention and helped a lot in content delivery. In...

WebQuests

Image
WebQuests are open-ended projects that engage students in researching and analyzing information from various online sources. They involve students in identifying research questions, locating relevant information, evaluating sources, synthesizing information into coherent arguments or presentations, and sharing findings with peers or the larger community. WebQuests provide opportunities for students to develop critical thinking skills, research skills, and digital literacy skills in an authentic context. They also encourage collaboration and communication skills as students work together in small groups or classes to complete the project. WebQuests can cover a wide range of subjects and can be adapted to various grade levels and instructional contexts. Additionally, WebQuests offer the advantage of being easily customizable to specific learning objectives or curriculum standards. Quiz

Online quizzes are digital assessments that can be administered through various educational platforms or websites. They have become increasingly popular as an educational tool due to their convenience and flexibility. Online quizzes allow teachers to assess student understanding in real-time, providing immediate feedback and identification of areas where students may need additional support. Quizzes can cover a wide range of subjects and can be used to assess both factual knowledge and conceptual understanding. Online quizzes also offer the advantage of being easily customizable, allowing teachers to create questions tailored to specific learning objectives or curriculum standards. Furthermore, online quizzes can be used in a variety of instructional contexts, from formative assessments during class time to summative assessments for grading purposes. Podcast

Image
Podcasts are digital audio files that can be streamed or downloaded for playback on various devices. They have gained popularity as an educational tool due to their accessibility and convenience. Podcasts can cover a wide range of subjects. Educational podcasts often include interviews with experts, explanations of complex concepts, and interactive elements like quizzes or discussion questions. Students can listen to podcasts at their own pace, making them an effective tool for self-paced learning. Additionally, podcasts can be used in the classroom as a supplement to traditional textbooks or lectures. These can also be original, meaning that teachers can create their own podcast to assist in content delivery. Attached below is the link for my podcast. https://www.podbean.com/ea/pb-2bpjq-15bf95b

My Personal Philosophy

Image
Greetings everyone!! Growing up, I was always fascinated by the power of education to transform lives and communities. I saw teachers as agents of change, who had the ability to inspire and empower their students to reach their full potential. I wanted to be a part of this noble profession and make a positive impact on the lives of my students. As an emerging teacher, I am excited about the opportunities that technology provides to enhance teaching and learning. I believe that by integrating technology into my instruction, I can create engaging and effective learning experiences for my students. I am committed to continuous learning and professional development in the area of educational technology, so that I can stay up to date with the latest trends and best practices. However, due to the abundance of content available on social media, students in modern society have become uninterested in their studies. As a result, it's critical that our teachers use engaging technologica...
